Cargille Refractive Index Liquid Series M

Cargille refractive index liquid series M with indices from 1.705 to 1.800. These liquids are available in increments of 0.005 and are adjusted to +/- 0.0005. These liquids are of a methylene iodide formulation. Indices from 1.740 to 1.780 contain sulfur imparting yellow color. Indices from 1.785 to 1.800 have tin iodide added, for a dark red color. Color refers to appearance when liquid is used in bulk, as liquid is virtually colorless when used in a thin layer. As methylene iodide evaporates, indices from 1.705 to 1.735 decrease in index. Indices from 1.740 and up increase in index and may form crystals. Learn more about refractive index liquids and their uses.
