These gage blocks are designed for inspecting a variety of micrometers and have high accuracy. These Mitutoyo gage blocks are made of CERA, which is a ceramic material with superior surface quality. Some advantages of CERA is that it is corrosion-resistant, abrasion resistant, and resistant to burr formation. All gage blocks are furnished with certificates of inspection. The provided case has a unique serial number, and each block has a certification number. Choose the desired grade of block when ordering. The recommended grade for various applications is described below:
- Grade K: These gage blocks are of the highest accuracy and are intended for use within a temperature-controlled inspection room or calibration laboratory. They are designed to be used as masters and are manufactured by absolute measurement using an interferometer.
- Grade 00: These higher accuracy gage blocks are designed to be used in a controlled environment and are mainly used as reference standards for setting high-precision measuring equipment and for calibrating lower grade gage blocks.
- Grade 0: This grade of gage blocks is designed to be used within an inspection area to verify the accuracy of plug and snap gages and for setting electronic measuring devices.
- Grade AS-1: Gage blocks of this grade are designed to be used on the shop floor to set and calibrate fixtures and precision instruments.
