This Axiolab 5 IMA/USP 788 microscope provides the required 100x magnification, has been calibrated with a NIST certified stage micrometer and the magnification factor of the microscope determined prior to installation of the custom IMA/USP 788 reticle. Both episcopic brightfield internal illumination and external auxiliary illumination are provided. This microscope meets IMA/USP 788 standards for the Microscopic Particle Test Count. For optimal observation, the testing should be carried out under conditions limiting particulate matter, preferably in a laminar-flow cabinet without use of any reflective lid.
