Student Microscope and 24 Slide Package

The Richter Optica MDS1 is a middle school student microscope with both coarse and fine focusing. This microscope has student-proofed features such as a retractable 40x objective lens and carrying handle. The microscope package includes a 24-pack of prepared slides that are ready to view. This is the perfect gift for curious kids.

• Prepared Slides: The included prepared slide kit includes six slides, each with 4 samples that cover the following categories: root & stem, leaf & epidermis, pollen & starch, wing & leg, tiny creatures, and hair & fiber. Each slide is made of glass with thick tape around all edges to ensure they are  safe for even smaller children since there are no sharp edges. • Objective Lenses: Achromatic, color-coded 4x, 10x, and 40x (retractable) objectives mounted on precision revolving objective turret. 45° inclined head for ease of viewing when seated. Head rotates 360°.
• Eyepiece: Widefield 10x eyepiece, FN 16mm with pointer.
• Total Magnification: 40x, 100x, 400x.
• Specimen Stage: Circular 89mm (3.5") diameter stage includes locked-on, spring-activated stage clips. Stage slides forward, backward and left to right.
• Frame: Rugged all metal frame with enamel coating for protection. Built-in carrying handle.
• Focusing: Coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs. Rack stop protects objectives and specimen slides.
• Light Focusing: 5-Hole disc diaphragm for focusing light.
