Reichert Bright-Line Phase Contrast Hemacytometer
The Reichert bright-line hemacytometer has an H-shaped moat that forms two counting areas. Each counting chamber has an improved Neubauer ruling. Both counting chambers have a "V" slash loading side to minimize overflow in the moat. The surface tension difference between the metallic chamber surface and the cover glass provides smooth capillarity for even cell distribution and precise loading. This hemacytometer can be purchased separately, paired with two cover glasses, or in a complete set (hemacytometer, two cover glasses, a pipette for red blood cells, a pipette for white blood cells and a pipette filler).
Rulings cover 9 square millimeters. Boundary lines of the Neubauer ruling are the center lines of the groups of three. (These are indicated in the grid illustration.) The central square millimeter is ruled into 25 groups of 16 small squares, each group separated by triple lines, the middle one of which is the boundary. The ruled surface is 0.10mm below the cover glass, so that the volume over each of the 16 small squares is .00025 cubic mm.
